About RDS Automotive RDS Automotive Service, Inc, is an independently owned repair and maintenance facility conveniently located in the Avondale Estates community, adjacent to Decatur, where honesty and quality are priorities in the services they provide. Cars are our business. People are our priority is the motto that drives this business. RDS Automotive Service, Inc, opened in 1999, and has grown from a one-man shop to a thriving repair business employing three full-time technicians, with more than 100 years of combined expertise. Tom Dubbert, the owner of RDS, comes from an accounting background, having earned his masters in professional accounting from Georgia State University and worked in that field for a number of years. In 1984 Tom decided to turn a personal hobby and passion into a business, and he entered the field of automotive technology. Because Tom comes from a professional and business background, he has a unique understanding of the personal and automotive needs of the professional community. RDS Team Elbert Purcell has more than 45 years experience in automotive repair. He went to work for Coble Tire Company in 1960 and worked with them until this year when they closed their doors after many years of serving the community. Elbert and his wife Jane live in Snellville. When he doesn't have a wrench in his hands, Elbert likes deer hunting and working in his yard. Jerry Herrington is an Atlanta native and has been working in the automotive repair business for over 31 years. Actually, except for a period of training, he also worked for Coble Tire Company for most of that time. In addition to enjoying the company of his wife Nancy and Jaki, the Jack Russel, Jerry spends his free time restoring old cars and military vehicles. Paul O'Brien has been with us for over three years and draws on over 10 years of experience. Before life as an automotive technician, Paul worked as an EMT. He and his wife Suzanne are avid outdoors people and are training their 18 month old son, Riley, to follow in their footsteps.
