Garland McGhee is from a small town in Arkansas and had always dreamed of one day owning his own business. After college, he started his career as a plant manager for Van Husen Shirt Company in Arkansas and later took a position with Kellwood in McComb, Mississippi. After fourteen years in management, Garland decided to make his dream a reality and open up a tire store. He stayed focused on his goal even though the odds were against him. People told him a tire store would never make it because there were too many tire stores already and not being from McComb would be a disadvantage. Because of his persistence and determination, Delaware Tire, Brake and Muffler opened for business in 1983 and is currently the oldest and most respected tire and brake store in Pike County. Today, Garland McGhee still owns and operates Delaware Tire, Brake and Muffler with his wife, Judy. Judy is a retired school teacher and is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Udell Lea of Osyka, Mississippi. Garland and Judy are active members in their church, First Baptist of McComb. They also enjoy spending time with their children; Sean and Amy McGhee of North Carolina, Tom and Laurie Sugameli of Michigan, Brandon McGhee of Louisiana, Michael and Tara Beene of Texas and Anna Alford of Colorado.
