Edgewood Garage Company History Charles Burchfield purchased the Edgewood Garage in 1964. The shop is located on Nuttal Avenue in Edgewood, Maryland. The building was originally constructed in 1958. Don Burchfield worked in the garage for his father in the evenings and on weekends. For several years, Charles and Don built the clientele and reputation of the Edgewood Garage. The shop has been continually updated with the latest equipment to service the new automotive technologies. Eventually, Don took over the garage from his father. Several employees have come to the shop to service the growing demand for qualified, experienced mechanics. John Ryan, John Block, and Howard Lowe have joined Don to become the Edgewood Garage staff. These automotive technicians have many years of experience and several automotive certifications. Over the years, the shop as seen renovations in both the building and tooling. In 1994, a computer billing and information system was installed to better serve customers and reduce time-consuming paperwork. The building was updated with air conditioning in 1990. A carport was converted to storage, before it was finally converted into the present office. In the comfort of the office, customers can sit and discuss their automotive and light truck repairs with Don and the staff. In 1998, a fire sprang from a heating exhaust duct and ravaged the building. Don and his staff worked temporarily on Route 40, while the main garage area was rebuilt from the ground up. The new shop includes lifts that facilitate auto repair. The Edgewood Garage is known for quality work in Harford County. Should you find yourself stranded, they can arrange for towing to the garage. If you need temporary transportation while your vehicle is in the shop, ask about on-site car rentals. MD inspection can be scheduled through the garage as well.
